Opportunity
Atlas Obscura initially offered one-off events. However, if they offered repeatable events, they could scale more quickly and globally.
Problem
The original experience was built for one-off events, without search or filters. So, there wasn’t a way for users to easily find the events that matched their availability, place, and interest.
Solution
I designed a new page with filtering so users could quickly find events they would be interested in. I included a date picker, price slider, category filters, a few micro-animations, and an empty state with suggested experiences.
Result
Atlas Obscura was able to increase bookings, work with more hosts, and offer events throughout the world.
